Opening day for this small ski field, 15 km on a bad and snow road for go up to the car park. Good view on the southern alps all along the day, with good light, and sun. The snow was not too bad, cold and almost powder.
I rented skis, boots and poles, in a old shop named "ski shack" in a small town I liked the atmosphere there, very peaceful and I met friendly people.
Just one ski lift was opened the chairlift was closed. But it was possible to skiing the whole mountain with the only one ski lift.
Mainly family and locals people everybody was happy to be here, awesome.
When we came back I saw the sunset behind the mountains the sky was pink, with the greens hills and sheeps, the old farms, so NZ. I enjoyed a lot my day.
